What is Profhilo®?

Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

Frequent Q &A

Is Profhilo® A Filler?

Profhilo® is not a filler treatment, it’s a type of skin boosterProfhilo® will trigger your production of elastin and collagen to improve the skin quality.

You can expect an improvement in the firmness of the skin, and in the laxity. You will have firmer skin, you will have more glowing skin, and overall you can also get a bit of lifting effect, because the quality of the skin itself is going to improve.

How is the treatment conducted?

On this treatment we use the five specific injection points on each side of the face. Numbing cream is applied prior to the injections. In total the treatment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

How Long Is Recovery?

You’ll have little bumps on the skin, like little insect bites, for about four to six hours following the Profhilo® treatment, so there’s a bit of downtime.

For the neck treatments, the bumps may be visible for a bit longer, so do expect more downtime for the neck.

And How Long Do Results Last?

So the results will last, approximately six months. It would be good to do a two-session course of Profhilo® twice a year. This is just to remind your skin, actually, to repair itself and to rejuvenate itself.

Who can have Prophilo?

Profhilo® It’s a skin booster,  can be used to patients with problems of skin elasticity. Ideal for patients going through menopause, because around menopause your hormone level will change, and the quality of your skin will change a lot so you can do a course of Profhilo® to help boost your skin.

How many Treatments are needed?

For Profhilo®, it’s ideally a two-session treatment, so you should do one session, and then four weeks after, a second session to get the maximum effect.

For a woman around menopause, I sometimes advise a course of three – so four weeks after the second session, you can do a third session.

Does it change your face structure?

It is a natural process of treatment which allows the body to use its own resources to stimulate collagen production.
