What is a Skin tag?

Skin tags, also known as acrochordons, are harmless, non-cancerous skin growths that can appear as soft tags of flesh-colored or brown skin. Generally, they don’t cause any medical problems.

Here are some common factors associated with their development:

  • Friction on the skin.
  • Genetics
  • Health Conditions: Individuals with conditions such as diabetes or obesity may be more prone to developing skin tags.
  • Age: Skin tags become increasingly common as people age, especially after the age of 50.
  • Pregnancy: Hormonal changes during pregnancy can sometimes lead to the appearance or increase in the size of skin tags.

Treatments we offer:

Cryotherapy: This involves freezing the lesions using liquid nitrogen.

The CryoPen uses nitrous oxide, extreme cold, under high pressure on the affected area. The nitrous oxide works to rapidly freeze the wart and crystalize, ultimately destroying the tissue.

This treatment has a very high accuracy thanks to the CryoPens precise tip, and will only target the infected area. This ensures healthy skin will not be affected and only the skin tag is exposed to the rapid freezing.

Why Should I use Cryotherapy for skin tag Removal?

CryoPen offers unique benefits if you choose to remove your skin tag.

It is extremely time efficient. One appointment can take only fifteen minutes on the day, as procedure time is less than 60 seconds per area. No anaesthetic is required meaning you can go to the appointment during your lunchtime, and you won’t need to take time off work. Recovery time is moderate discomfort up to 24 hours.
